If the app’s core function does not clearly require a permission, deny it initially and see whether the app still works.

Review permissions again after an update. Features can change, and a new request may be legitimate, unnecessary, or a sign that you installed a different package than expected. Use the device’s privacy or application settings to see what was granted, when it was used, and whether access can be limited to a single session. Revoke permissions that no longer have a clear purpose.

Protect account information while reviewing the app. Do not enter an account password into a page reached through an unknown advertisement. Use a unique password, enable available account security controls, and avoid saving sensitive payment details on a shared device. A permission check cannot compensate for an untrusted login form.
