A nearly ready hand creates a special risk: confidence can make the final check shorter precisely when accuracy matters most. The best endgame routine is slower than an impulse but faster than rebuilding the whole hand. It confirms structure, removes ambiguity, and protects against a declaration error.
Start with the required end state for the exact variant. Count the groups you need and identify any mandatory natural or pure structure. Do not assume that a hand containing several attractive melds is valid. Place the required group first, then assign the remaining cards without using the same card twice.
Inspect each group in a fixed direction. For a sequence, check suit, rank order, and whether a joker is substituting for a permitted card. For a set, check rank, suit uniqueness where applicable, and the rules for repeated cards. Say the missing or substituted card quietly in your head. This exposes groups that look correct only because the eye fills in a gap.
Keep one temporary space for unassigned cards. If a card does not fit anywhere, do not force it into a group just to make the layout look complete. A loose card may show that another group needs to be rebuilt. Test the alternative arrangement before moving anything permanently. The objective is a valid partition, not an attractive row of cards.
Next confirm the action sequence. Has the required draw occurred? Is a discard still needed? Does the interface distinguish between arranging, declaring, and submitting? Read the button label and the confirmation message. On a small screen, a tap near the wrong control can change the outcome even when the hand itself is correct.
Use the same scan every time: variant requirement, mandatory group, sequence details, set details, unassigned cards, and final action. Practice the routine in free or low-pressure rounds so it becomes automatic. A valid declaration is a technical task as well as a strategic one; the final seconds should confirm your plan rather than invent a new one.
If you find an error, do not keep tapping in search of a different result. Return to the unassigned space, rebuild one group, and scan again. In practice mode, rehearse a hand with one misleading near-sequence so your eyes learn to check suit and order. The purpose is reliable verification, not faster movement for its own sake.
